Our group has come to the conclusion that there is no real cause of the chemical imbalance that eventually leads to OCD. We believe that it is more psychological then genetic or biological. In our research we have seen very few cause where OCD just "happened" all of a sudden. While there probably are a few cases inwhich that really was the case, the recent explosion in the number of cases in diagnosis show that i might be a much more mental problem then originally thought. In our society, we do not like to take problems standing up or simply accept things the way they are and deal with them. Instead these behaviors build and we begin to act differently to fit the way we think. We think we need to do something a certain way or else it is wrong, and that is how OCD comes out in our social enviroment. We do not know what might help people learn better to avoid these problems. All we can recommend is to live a good healthly social life and be open with how you feel and take chances to avoid feeling depressed and feeling compelled to do things you know you don't need to do.
